In 2008, Mr. Nazeer Mahamad returned to Thanjavur after more than 20 years of professional experience in Dubai. He came back with an idea — to build a construction business in his hometown, focused on quality homes and premium residential projects.
At that stage, Dewan Builders was a vision waiting to take shape.
Through Mr. Arul Mohan, I, Stephen Yoga, was introduced to Mr. Nazeer Mahamad for a general consultation about starting his construction business in Thanjavur.
What began as a simple business conversation eventually became a professional relationship that has continued for nearly two decades.
As the business began taking shape, the need for a professional brand identity and online presence became clear. The Dewan Builders logo was designed by Phoenix Prasanna, creating the visual foundation for the brand.
We then started working on the company’s website. For us, this was a particularly important project. Dewan Builders became our first commercial website project as freelancers. The successful project gave us recognition and opened the door to further opportunities in professional web design and digital services.
Dewan Builders steadily developed its presence in Thanjavur, focusing particularly on HNI clients and premium residential construction.
The company also began developing and selling its own homes. Over the years, Dewan Builders has successfully sold 100+ homes and developed 20+ high-value villas in Thanjavur.
As their business expanded, our relationship evolved as well.
We did not simply build the website and move on. We continued working with Dewan Builders, updating and redesigning their website approximately every 3–5 years to reflect new projects, changing business requirements and the company’s growing presence.
As they grew, we grew with them.
One of the significant milestones in the journey came through the company’s digital presence. By 2010, the Dewan Builders website had achieved No. 1 Google visibility across Tamil Nadu for important construction and real-estate-related searches. The combination of website development, SEO and consistent digital communication helped Dewan Builders strengthen its online presence and reach people searching for homes, villas and construction services.

When Dewan Aesthetic, the company’s apartment project, was launched, the established reputation of Dewan Builders combined with its online visibility helped create strong customer confidence. The project received an exceptionally strong response, with all apartments sold within a very short period after launch.
For us, this became another meaningful milestone.
It demonstrated how years of brand building, customer trust, professional presentation and digital visibility can come together when a new project enters the market.
Over nearly two decades, the business changed — and so did its website. Rather than allowing the original website to become outdated, we continued to redesign and update it as Dewan Builders entered different stages of growth. The 2026 website version represents the latest chapter.
It now includes the company’s Chennai branch, reflecting the expansion of Dewan Builders beyond its original Thanjavur base. From the first website created as freelancers to the latest digital presence in 2026, the website has evolved alongside the business.
Perhaps the most meaningful part of this story is that the relationship has now entered its next generation.
Ar. Shakeel, the next generation of the family, is taking the business forward while also developing his own professional journey through his architectural practice in Chennai.
Our association continues with this new chapter. Today, we are also working with Ar. Shakeel and his architectural firm in Chennai. A relationship that began with his family’s construction business in 2008 has now continued into the next generation.
